Iranian Eternal Heroes Remembrance: Our Story

A Moment That Must Be Remembered

January 8th& 9th, 2026, mark a time of profound loss days that many remember with sorrow, reflection, and a deep sense of human connection.

During this period, individuals across Iran took part in widespread public expression, voicing aspirations for dignity, freedom, and fundamental human rights. What followed, as documented by human rights observers and independent sources, resulted in significant loss of life, affecting families, communities, and future generations.

For many, especially within the Iranian Canadian community, these days are not only a moment in time they are a memory carried forward with grief, respect, and responsibility.

Why IEHR Was Created

Remembrance is not only about look The Iranian Eternal Heroes Remembrance (IEHR) was established to ensure that these lives are not forgotten.

It began with a simple but meaningful intention:
to create a space where remembrance is approached with dignity, where stories are preserved with care, and where awareness is built through understanding rather than division. EHR is not a political movement.
It is a human-centered initiative—grounded in shared values that transcend borders, cultures, and perspectives.

At its core, IEHR exists to:

  • Honor the memory of those who lost their lives
  • Support reflection within communities
  • Encourage awareness through education and dialogue

A Shared Responsibility

Remembrance is not only about looking back, it is about how we carry memory forward.

Behind every life lost is a story:
a family, a future, a voice that mattered.

Through IEHR, we seek to create opportunities for individuals and communities to pause, reflect, and remember together.

Whether through a simple act such as wearing the Remembrance Pin, participating in community dialogue, or engaging with educational content, each action becomes part of a collective effort to ensure that memory is preserved with respect and meaning.

The Meaning of Remembrance

Remembrance, for us, is not only an act of tribute, but also an act of awareness.

It invites us to:

  • Reflect with empathy
  • Learn with openness
  • Engage with respect

It reminds us that human dignity is universal, and that memory, when preserved thoughtfully, can contribute to understanding and connection across communities.

Looking Forward with Purpose

IEHR is committed to building a lasting platform for remembrance one that connects education, awareness, and community engagement in a meaningful way.

Through this work, we hope to:

  • Encourage ongoing reflection on January 8th & 9th
  • Support inclusive community participation
  • Contribute to a broader culture of awareness and respect

Our story is still being written not by one voice, but by many.
